- Is there a “right” side to sit on dedicated to grooms people on one side wife’s peeps on the other?
- No freedom; Only structure. There will be assigned seating (jk.)
- Ok, the above line is a joke. Really there is not wrong side to sit on. We are going to be one big family soon enough, so no need to pick a side :)
Tea Ceremony
- Is anyone allowed at the tea ceremony?
- Sorry, but that space was kind of smaller, so this is reserved for family and helpers.
- Are ao dais allowed for tea ceremony?
- Absolutely! We encourage anyone who wants to wear ao dais for some or all parts of the day. For those who wish to change from ao dai to reception dress at Greens restaurant, you can change in the restroom; a full-on changing room would be nice (but the restroom is not half bad).
Transit & Parking
- How much time should I account for travel time?
- Just account for extra travel time due to road closures due to fleet week parade the same day and the airshow will start at 2 pm.
- Does Greens restaurant have parking?
- Yes, there is a parking lot that you’ll need to pay for if you drive a car, although we highly recommend taking shared rides.
Attire
- What should I wear? Is there a dress code?
- Anything from semi-formal to formal. We want ya to feel good, so if that means this is your chance to be fancy, go for it. If that mains you don’t want to wrap that collar in a tie, that’s okay too. The groom personally, is partial to the goofy look of a bow tie, so if you need any pointers on how to tie that, ask away. 😋
Gifts
- Do you have a registry?
- We don’t have a registry, partially because the groom already has a problem buying kitchen appliances hehe. Your presence is deeply appreciated.
- For guests who would like to gift us good luck money as we embark on our married life, we’ll have a designated envelope/box nearby during the tea ceremony and reception. We will also do meet and greets around the table, and in Vietnamese tradition, you can make us work for it in person. Bring it on 😋
Other Stuff
- Should we be aware of anything happening in the City?
- Glad ya asked. You might hear some lovely ✈✈(🛸?) becase we timed things perfectly and…Saturday, October 10th is fleet day. There may be road closures in certain parts of the Marina for the parade, which is nearby the reception and tea ceremony location. Please account for extra travel time due to road closures due to fleet week parade.
- Are there any cool places to check out near Greens restaurant after the church ceremony?
- Yes, beer hall or cocktail bar are right next door to Greens restaurant and walk along to take the views in. Grab a friend and spend some time together following the church ceremony and before cocktail hour starts at 6 pm!
